CAKE SMASH!
Cake Smash sessions are a unique way to celebrate your child’s first birthday, as well as being great fun.
Have you got a particular request in terms of colour scheme or theme of the shoot? Woodland, Winnie the Pooh, Nautical? If not, that’s absolutely fine! Some clients have a clear vision of what they’d like to get out of their session, but others prefer to let me take the lead and set up something lovely for them on the day.
Each session usually lasts from sixty to ninety minutes and on arrival, we give your child time to adapt to the new surroundings while we have a chat. We start with some beautiful portraits of your child in their own clothes … and then the real fun begins! After a quick outfit change, we let them loose on their very own birthday cake… it’s time to get messy! Some children are more reserved than others, some love to dive straight in, but no matter what their reaction, you are guaranteed memorable photographs.
At the end of the smash session, we invite baby to splash in a bathtub of bubbles, so we don’t send you home with a sticky cake covered child. We also take a few more cute photos to round off the session … and best of all…..you get to walk away from all the mess!

We specialise in child and family portraiture. Having worked with children for many years, we have a good understanding of their needs. Sessions are flexible, friendly and more importantly structured around you and your child’s needs.
We are not a High Street studio, we work from home in a purpose built studio, so there is plenty of space to play, pose and create fun photographs of you and your family!

For many people, the most ideal place for a portraiture session is in their own home or a location of their choosing. Familiar and comfortable settings lend themselves to relaxed, enjoyable portrait sessions resulting in photographs that capture true personality. We can talk about your favourite location, or I know of lots of beautiful places to suggest. Get in touch and we can plan!

Whether your animal is a golden oldie who prefers the comfort of their own home or more of an adventurous outdoors type, we can cater for all. Pet sessions can be arranged at the owners own home, a special location or in our studio.

NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY
The best time for your maternity session is between your seventh and eighth month of pregnancy. Some Mums show REALLY early and choose to do theirs around the early seventh month. Other don’t show as much and opt to wait until the middle to late weeks of their eighth month! It’s up to you!
Newborn babies are tiny and squidgy for such a short time. the first couple of weeks of their life are the perfect time to capture these beautiful images – and you will just love to look back on them when you have a rampaging toddler in the house instead of a sleepy newborn!

my approach
Hopefully, you’re reading this because you like my photography or have heard of me through my work or, perhaps you are reading this because you are looking to see if I could help create some special images for you. As this is my ‘about us’ page, it seems appropriate that I should tell you a little about myself and what I can do for you.
There is no doubt that I am mostly a family/child photographer. I have always worked with children, first as a childminder with a passion for photography, now a photographer with a passion for child photography. I just love it!
It all began in 2005 after completing a three year City & Guilds course. I took a job with a large nursery school photography company…..oh how I hated the restrictions placed on me. Children are unique so why was I limited to dealing with them all the same ( I think I would be considered a non conformist) Needless to say, eventually we parted and I decided to launch Tina Allingham Photography as an independent business.
I am now fortunate enough to run my own Nursery School Photography business as well as owning my own studio. The studio is unlike most high street studios as I prefer to work on a more personal level with my clients. My studio is both friendly and affordable but most importantly, relaxed.
I might be the one behind the camera, but I am lucky enough to have an ‘Ian’ who supports me in any way he can. He runs deliveries, collections, admin, printing, packing as well as bringing me and my clients coffee when needed.
